About TAQBIN Services
The Yamato Group’s “Black Cat Logo” was inspired by the “Mother Cat and Cat Baby Logo” created by its American partner, Allied Van Lines, in 1957. When Yasuomi Ogura, the company’s president at the time, saw the symbol of a cat mother carrying a baby cat, he immediately thought it was ideal for expressing the company’s aspirations. This is where the “black cat trademark” got its start.
In terms of design, it is reported to have been influenced by a “cat picture” done by a child of a public relations staffer at the time.
Masao Ogura, who became president of Yamato in 1971, looked into the reasons for the company’s low transportation revenue, believing that the industry assumed at the time that “the complexity of receiving and dispatching small shipments is not cost-effective when compared to multiple shipments,” and that “it’s reasonable to ship a large number of shipments at one time” was incorrect. Ogura is certain that “The unit pricing for small shipments is higher because it is determined per kilogram. Income can be enhanced if a large number of tiny shipments can be received,” he said, and in the summer of 1975, he released the “Requirements for Development of TA-Q-BIN” internally.”
